Jeffrey Spence
Chief Executive Officer
Jeff brings extensive sales, operations, and management leadership experience to Xiocom.
Prior to founding Xiocom Wireless, Jeff has helped build lasting sales, management and operations strategies for top global companies including IBM, Apple, Shell, Texaco, IKON Office Solutions, Akzo-Nobel and Bechtel. A longtime technology and sales advocate, he has been invited to speak at such high-profile conferences as Comdex, Networld+Interop, The Homeland Security Summit and NACE, where he’s provided expertise in the areas of building technology sales channels, and large sales support and marketing operations. Jeff holds a Bachelor of Science degree in both Electronic Engineering and Physics from California State University, Chico.
Troy Richardson
President
Troy has a distinguished 22-year career in technology sales management and organizational leadership. Troy most recently served as the President of the Americas for Novell, where he successfully grew their sales and consulting business. Before that he served as VP for the Americas for NCR, heading up an $800m division. During his 16 year tenure with IBM he held a number of executive roles including VP Sales for the enterprise software group. He holds a degree in Business management from Eastern Illinois University and an MBA from Northwestern University’s J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management.
David McGirt
Chief Technology Officer
David was previously VP of Operations and Chief Technology Officer for the co-location and managed services division of the Quality Group of Companies, a leading provider of mission critical data centers and special use facilities. For over 10 years, David was responsible for design and engineering of the voice, data and internet networks of ITC^DeltaCom, a publicly traded super regional telecommunications carrier in the southern United States. This responsibility spanned over 20,000 miles of fiber networks, large ATM, Frame Relay, DWDM and IP Backbones, and more than 13 Class 5 voice switches. David received his BSc in aerospace engineering from Auburn University.
Cobus Kotze
Director New Market Development
Cobus is qualified as an attorney with South Africa’s Cape Law Society. In 1987 he co-founded Luna Corporation and, as a director of its subsidiary SAIL, managed all international and media interests. In 1999 he was responsible for the motivation, due diligence and structuring of the Rembrandt/Venfin Group stake in South Africa’s e-TV. In 2005 he joined the board of CityNet Wireless International and is now a member of Xiocom’s Board of Directors.
Steve Erdman
Senior Vice President Global-Business Development
Steve has 20 years of technology sales, marketing and global business management experience. He was most recently with Novell as the VP/GM of Channels and Alliances, where he grew their partner business and oversaw the Novell Routes to Market strategy. Prior to Novell, Steve helped build Dells Networking Business then led the Global Industrial Sales team. He was responsible for $1.5b in global revenue from Dell’s Global Industrial Customers. Steve was also at 3Com Corporation, first as VP of Channel Sales and Strategy, Americas, and then as VP of Sales, Marketing and Services for 3Com’s Business Connectivity Company. Steve started his professional career with IBM in 1987 and held various global and executive positions before becoming VP Sales and Marketing, in IBM’s Consumer Division. Steve holds a degree in finance from the University of Georgia.
